This so-called “Blueprint” isn’t a plan to lift up our schools. It’s a ticking time bomb that will gut local education, raise your taxes, and shove a far-left agenda into every classroom—while ignoring the real needs of students, parents, and hardworking teachers.
A One-Size-Fits-All Disaster
The Blueprint’s rigid, top-down mandates ignore the unique needs of counties like Anne Arundel. Instead of empowering our local educators and school boards, Moore’s plan gives more power to unelected bureaucrats in Annapolis. These bureaucrats will dictate everything from how teachers are certified to what’s taught in your child’s classroom. Spoiler alert: it’s less math and reading, more ideological indoctrination.
Soaring Costs, Shrinking Results
Implementing Moore’s Blueprint comes with a $3.8 billion price tag statewide, and guess who’s footing the bill? You, the taxpayers of Anne Arundel County. Our local leaders will be forced to raise property taxes or divert funding from essential services just to comply. Meanwhile, academic performance in core subjects like math and reading has not improved in jurisdictions already piloting these programs. So we’re spending more—and getting less.
Teachers as Political Pawns
One of the most dangerous elements of Moore’s plan is its partnership with the powerful teachers’ unions, like the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA). Rather than reward merit and excellence, the Blueprint puts union loyalty above student outcomes.
